Biography
Keonna Otis is a sophomore track and field athlete at Prairie View A&M University, where she competes in shot put, discus, and javelin. Originally from Killeen, Texas, Keonna attended Harker Heights High School before joining Prairie View. She is currently majoring in Criminal Justice, pursuing a career path aimed at helping children from broken homes.
Keonna's passion for track was sparked by her aunt and her admiration for volleyball players, particularly the spike, which influenced her decision to pursue athletics. A self-proclaimed lover of reading, sleeping, and painting, Keonna enjoys a variety of hobbies outside of track. Her favorite food is salmon, and she loves celebrating Halloween, which is her favorite holiday.
In her career, Keonna aspires to be stable and excel in her chosen path. While she doesn't have a specific memorable moment in track yet, she remains dedicated to improving and growing in her sport. Her goal for the season is to keep progressing and push herself to new heights.
Keonna chose Prairie View A&M because of the positive influence of her summer track coach, who encouraged her to attend the university. The track team’s supportive environment and strong sense of community have played a key role in her decision to continue her athletic journey at this HBCU.
