Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Lauryn Hamrick joined the Prairie View A&M staff in 2016 after serving as a coach at the elite club levels in Houston and in Mississippi. She came to Prairie View from the Houston Stellar Volleyball Club in the Clear Lake area.

A native of Pasadena, Texas, Hamrick was a four-year letterwinner for the Lady Choctaws volleyball team at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss. She began coaching at club level with the Mississippi Impact during her freshman year in 2009, staying with the club for six years until relocating back to Texas in 2015.

As a player Hamrick recorded 1,616 assists for the Lady Choctaws during her career, which concluded at the end of the 2012 season. She twice earned all-conference Honorable Mention from the American Southwest Conference at setter position. Following the conclusion of her playing career, Hamrick joined the MC coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach.

Hamrick graduated with a degree in kinesiology from Mississippi College in 2013, and obtained her master's degree in 2015.
