Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Devyn Gans is a freshman at Prairie View A&M University, majoring in Computer Engineering.

Inspired by professional athlete Ben Shelton, Devyn is driven by the desire to improve daily and challenge himself physically and mentally through tennis. He enjoys playing golf and has a love for pizza, which fuels him after intense training sessions. His all-time favorite movie is "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," showcasing his appreciation for storytelling.

Christmas is Devyn's favorite holiday, as it provides a special time to connect with family and create lasting memories together. One of his most memorable moments in sports occurred during a tournament when he focused on having fun during a rough patch. Against the odds, he won singles, doubles, and the sportsmanship award as a low seed, showcasing his resilience and love for the game.

Devyn acknowledges that one of the greatest challenges athletes face today is the risk of injuries due to intense schedules. Looking ahead five years, he aims to help his team win a conference championship and make a deep run in the NCAA tournament.

His dream job is to become a software engineer, combining his passion for technology with his academic pursuits. Devyn chose Prairie View A&M for its outstanding engineering program and strong tennis team.
