Jade Coates, a junior middle hitter from Little Rock, Arkansas, is pursuing a degree in Biology at Prairie View A&M. Having transferred from East Central University, Jade’s passion for volleyball was sparked by her friends, who encouraged her to embrace the sport.

Her favorite all-time movie is The Lego Batman Movie, and Rihanna is her top entertainer. Jade enjoys a variety of foods, with pasta and ice cream being her favorites, and she holds Christmas dear for its gift-giving and festive traditions. In her free time, she loves thrifting, watching reality TV, and painting.

Jade's support system is a major driver of her passion for volleyball, providing her with the encouragement and motivation she needs. She identifies mental health as one of the greatest challenges athletes face today, recognizing the importance of maintaining well-being amidst the pressures of competition.

One of Jade’s most memorable moments in volleyball was competing at nationals during her 18’s year of club, an experience that marked a significant achievement in her sporting career. Looking ahead, she hopes to be working towards a master’s degree and making a positive impact through science. Her dream job involves working in research or becoming a Physician Assistant (PA).

Jade chose Prairie View A&M for the numerous opportunities it offers, which align with her academic and career aspirations.
