Lexy Thomas, a graduate student and outside/right-side hitter from San Antonio, Texas, is pursuing a degree in Nutrition at Prairie View A&M. She transferred from Sam Houston State, where her volleyball journey was inspired by her parents, who have been her greatest supporters.

Her favorite all-time movie is Pompeii, and Christina Applegate is her favorite entertainer. Lexy enjoys hibachi and Greek food, and she looks forward to Christmas for its festive weather and the joy of watching holiday movies. In her leisure time, she loves trying new restaurants and sightseeing.

Lexy’s passion for volleyball is driven by her desire to be part of something larger than herself, to challenge her own limits, and to be actively involved in her community. She identifies mental health as a significant challenge for athletes today, highlighting the importance of maintaining psychological well-being.

One of her most memorable moments in volleyball was participating in two Conference USA championships, a highlight of her athletic career. In the next five years, Lexy aims to become a college coach and a certified strength and conditioning coach. Her dream job involves working with professional sports organizations as a strength coach.

Lexy chose Prairie View A&M because of the appealing coaching staff and the advantage of being close to home, allowing her to stay connected with her family while pursuing her academic and athletic goals.
