Elizabeth Ramsey

  • Title
Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Compliance

Elizabeth Ramsey was named Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Compliance at Prairie View A&M University on March 30, 2026. In this role, she oversees all aspects of NCAA compliance, providing strategic leadership, rules education, and monitoring to ensure the department operates with integrity and adherence to conference and national regulations.

Ramsey brings nearly two decades of experience at the intersection of law, athletics, and governance. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of the Team USA Athletes’ Commission with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee from 2020–2025. As the first to hold the position, she transformed the Commission into a fully staffed and professionally operated organization representing approximately 5,000 Olympic and Paralympic athletes. She led strategic planning initiatives, managed an expanded budget, and worked closely with athlete leadership, national governing bodies, and key stakeholders to advocate for athlete rights and amplify the athlete voice on a national and international stage. Her work included presenting to the USOPC Board of Directors, collaborating with federal officials, and contributing to policy discussions impacting Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and athlete welfare.

Prior to her time with Team USA, Ramsey served as Director of Basketball Operations & Intelligence for the Sacramento Kings (2018–2019), where she managed scouting operations, developed internal evaluation systems, and played a key role in draft preparation and organizational strategy. She also spent over a decade with the NCAA (2007–2018) as Associate Director of Enforcement, handling complex infractions cases in men’s and women’s basketball, educating stakeholders on NCAA legislation, and building relationships across the collegiate athletics landscape.

A former student-athlete, Ramsey competed in women’s basketball at the University of Indianapolis from 1997–2001, earning numerous accolades including Female Athlete of the Year and the Great Lakes Valley Conference’s Richard F. Scharf Paragon Award. She was inducted into the University of Indianapolis Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017 and received the GLVC Dr. Charles Bertram Alumni Award of Distinction in 2022.

Ramsey earned her Juris Doctor from Indiana University McKinney School of Law and is licensed to practice law in the state of Indiana. She also holds a Master of Sport Administration from Canisius College and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Indianapolis.

Her extensive background in compliance, enforcement, legal affairs, and athlete advocacy positions her as a key leader in supporting Prairie View A&M Athletics’ commitment to excellence and integrity.
