Joshua McDade is in his sixth year in college football and currently serves as Scouting & Recruiting Coordinator at Prairie View A&M University. He plays a central role in identifying and evaluating talent, leading recruiting & scouting strategy across high school, junior college, and the transfer portal.
At PVAMU, McDade has implemented a structured player grading system and Collegiate Evaluation Guidebook to align recruiting efforts with the program's academic and athletic goals. His efforts have enhanced regional recruiting reach, streamlined evaluation processes, and improved internal organization.
Previously, McDade was Director of Football Recruiting & Player Personnel at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, contributing to consecutive conference championships through roster management and recruiting. He has also worked in recruiting at Texas Southern University, in personnel and scouting at Sacramento State, and as a Player Personnel Assistant & Scout for The Dream Bowl, evaluating small-college NFL hopefuls.
McDade began his career as an Assistant Linebackers Coach and Strength & Conditioning Assistant at UMHB, supporting a nationally ranked defense. His background in coaching and operations informs his detailed, field-based scouting approach.
He is a 2024 NCAA Emerging Leader, a 2025 New York Giants Mentee, and has participated in the NFL Future Leaders in Football Forum, the Minnesota Vikings Future Leaders Summit, and the NFL/NCAA Coaching Academy. In 2025, he was selected for the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship with the New York Jets. He holds certifications in college recruiting, film evaluation, and leadership foundations.
A graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, McDade earned a B.S. in Sport Management with a minor in Business Marketing and previously studied Construction Management and Business Administration at Texas State University, competing as a student-athlete at both institutions.
A native of Cypress, Texas, McDade is the proud father of one daughter, Zhuri.
