PV Soccer Has Four Members Selected To All-SWAC Team, Will Open Tourney Play On Thursday

Guillory Earns Another First-Team Selection

Prairie View A&M midfielder Angie Guillory was voted in as an All-Southwestern Athletic Conference First Team midfielder for the second-consecutive year after an impressive junior campaign on the soccer field.

Guillory scored six goals on the season and added four assists for a total of 16 points, which was only second on the team behind forward Yosselyn Aguilar. Aguilar had 18 points, which included six goals and six assists and was voted in as a second-team All-SWAC selection. Aguilar was second in the SWAC in points and Guillory finished fourth.

Prairie View A&M senior midfielder Navyd Diaz and junior defender Debbie Arguelles were also selected to the All-SWAC second team. Arguelles was a two-time defender of the week and was critical in a defense that finished fourth in the league in goals allowed (2.11 goals allowed per game).

Diaz was also an important part of that defense. She contributed two goals and one assist on the season. Prairie View A&M and its four All-SWAC Selections will take on Alabama State at 3:30 p.m. in Alexandria, La., representing the SWAC West as the No. 1 seed in the SWAC Tournament on Thursday.
