Prairie View A&M senior relief pitcher Stephen Lunsford was named as the Southwestern Athletic Conference Co-Pitcher of the week after outstanding showings against the Texas Longhorns and the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions.

Lunsford threw a complete game against the Texas Longhorns, surrendering no earned runs in a 1-0 loss. He threw a shutout into the seventh inning until a fielding error led to an eventual score for Texas. Texas only had four hits off of Lunsford in eight innings.

He picked up a save in the 3-2 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, throwing two innings with two strikeouts and one earned run. He pitched 10 innings for the week and finished with a .90 ERA with just seven hits one walk and four strikeouts.

Lunsford and the Panthers travel to San Marcos to take on Texas State on Wednesday to play their final non-conference game before the start of the SWAC Tournament.
