BOX SCORE
ST. THOMAS, U.S.V.I – The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team dropped their fourth game in a row, and left the Paradise Jam tournament winless after a 90-52 loss to Washington State on Saturday night.
The Lady Panthers fell behind early as Washington State jumped out to an 11-0 lead within the first three minutes of the game. Prairie View would never recover from that deficit, and Washington State entered the half with a 50-20 lead.
Despite a disappointing performance team-wise for the Lady Panthers, freshman point guard
Jeanette Jackson continued to flourish. She followed up a season-high point total (18) against Marquette on Friday with a career-high six assists against Washington State. Jackson also had eight points.
Jackson hit her fellow guard
Michaela Burton for three of those dimes. Burton scored a career-high 18 points, knocking down four three-pointers in the process.
The Lady Panthers (1-3) will return home to take on Northwestern State on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Williams Nicks Building at 7 p.m. The game will mark the first home contest for the Lady Panthers since their season-opener on Nov. 11.
