LAKE CHARLES, La. – Prairie View A&M dropped a pair of non-conference games to McNeese State on Wednesday evening in Lake Charles.
In game one, McNeese used two big frames to run away with the game as they captured a 13-3 win.
McNeese scored 13 runs over the second and third frames before PV found the scoreboard as Destini Darby and Artavia Woods combined for three RBIs in the fourth. However, the deficit was too large to overcome as the game was called after the fifth due to the run rule.
Game two ended in similar fashion to game one as McNeese took advantage of a pair of innings en route to a 14-0 win.
The Cowgirls scored a run in the first and moved atop 4-0 in the third after scoring three runs. The floodgates broke in the fourth as MSU scored 10 runs to put the game away. Offensively, the Lady Panthers struggled as they fell victim to a McNeese no-hitter.
PV returns to action on Friday with a single contest versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 4 p.m. in Prairie View.
