SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Prairie View A&M soccer team dropped its season opener by a margin of 6-0 on Friday evening at the Bobcat Soccer Complex in San Marcos, Texas.
It took less than four minutes from the start of the contest for PV to fall behind 1-0 as Texas State's Erica Michaud scored off a rebound from the crossbar. Prairie View A&M experienced a case of déjà vu nearly 19 minutes later as Texas State went up 2-0 after Serena Hines scored off a rebound from the crossbar to close out the scoring in the first half.
Texas State put the contest away to open the second half with two goals within the first five minutes of play. The Bobcats tacked on a pair of goals in the 82nd and 84th-minute for the contest's final margin.
The Lady Panthers return to action next Friday at New Mexico State. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CST.
