Lady Panthers Fall To Northwestern State

Team Scores First Goal Of The Season

Prairie View A&M dropped its home opener by a 2-1 margin on Friday night versus Northwestern State.

The Lady Panthers put themselves in an early hole as NSU scored five minutes into the contest for an early 1-0 lead. Twenty-five minutes later, NSU added its second goal of the contest following Alex Petermann's kick.

Prairie View A&M scored its first goal of the 2011 season as junior J.D. Devany recorded a goal off an assist from Angie Guillory. The Lady Panthers clamped down defensively the remainder of the half as they held NSU scoreless but couldn't overcome the early deficit as they didn't get a shot off the rest of the way.

The Lady Panthers will battle Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
