Men's Basketball Set For Home Opener On Sunday

The Prairie View A&M Panthers return home for a brief two-game homestand as they'll open with Schreiner University on Sunday afternoon in the William Nicks Building at 4 p.m. in the Baby Dome.  The contest will be video streamed live on PANTHERVISION at 3:45 p.m. and KPVU 91.3 FM.

? The Panthers are coming off a 10-point loss to Texas Tech on Friday night as Carl Blair and Ryan Gesiakowski both scored in double figures.

? Schreiner University is a member of the American Southwest Conference (NCAA Division III) and was picked to finish fourth in the ASC West this season.  They finished the 2011-12 campaign with a 13-13 record.

? Sunday's game will mark the head coaching debut of Schreiner's Jimmy Smith, a former assistant at Mary Hardin-Baylor last season. 

? Prairie View A&M is 4-0 versus Schreiner under head coach Byron Rimm II.  The Panthers last played the Mountaineers in 2011 and has beaten them by an average of 26.5 points in those four meetings.
