Panthers To Host Arlington Baptist Tonight

Prairie View A&M closes out its brief two-game homestand against the Arlington Baptist Patriots on Tuesday night in the Baby Dome at 7:30 p.m.  This marks the team's final home game until Wednesday, November 28th as the University of Houston Cougars come to the William Nicks Building.

The Panthers split their first two games of the year as they fell to Texas Tech 89-79 in their season opener on Nov. 9 before rebounding to defeat Schreiner University 80-51 on Sunday, Nov. 11 in Prairie View.  Tonight's matchup versus the Patriots marks the third straight year the Panthers will host Arlington Baptist in Prairie View.  PV has won the past two matchups against the Patriots, including a 93-35 win in 2011.

Five players average in double figures for the Panthers as senior guard Jourdan DeMuynck leads the way with 17 points and 11 rebounds per outing.  Senior guard Ryan Gesiakowski and junior forward Josh Eleby follow with 12.5 points apiece while senior Carl Blair and sophomore Montrael Scott both average 12 points per game.  On the boards, DeMuynck leads the way with 11 rebounds per outing followed by 4.5 rebounds from center Mayol Riathin

A member of the National Christian College Athletic Association and Association of Christian College Athletics, Arlington Baptist defeated Parker University 100-89 in their season opener on Monday, Oct. 29.  Sophomore guard Raphael Garcia leads the way with 27 points per game while sophomore guard Josh Green chips in with 18 points and junior Jeremiah Ford with 17.  Hugo Rodriguez is their top rebounder with 11 boards per game.
