For the second-consecutive season the Prairie View A&M women's soccer team lost in the semifinal round of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament in a penalty kick shootout. With the game tied at 1-1 after two overtime periods Jackson State outscored the Lady Panthers 2-0 in penalty kicks.
The Lady Panthers could not find their target in five penalty kick attempts, leaving the opportunity for Jackson State's Kleopatra Ruddock and Kimberlie Hernandez to sneak two shots past Prairie View A&M goal keeper Bianca Garza.
Prairie View A&M got off to a hot start as senior forward Yosselyn Aguilar scored her second goal of the SWAC Tournament in the ninth minute of play. However, Ruddock scored a devastating goal in the 84th minute to send the game into overtime, while JSU keeper Taylor Emmerson limited the Lady Panthers following Aguilar's goal. She finished with seven five saves.
