GAME NOTES

The Prairie View A&M Panthers close out non-conference play this Saturday in Houston with a matchup versus the University of Houston at 3 p.m. in Hofheinz Pavilion.  This marks the second and final time both teams will meet during the regular season as the Cougars traveled to Prairie View A&M on Nov. 28.  The game will be broadcast live in SportsTalk 790 AM in Houston.

UH is on a four-game winning streak and has a 9-2 record during its non-conference slate.  The Cougars have not lost a game since Dec. 1 versus Texas A&M.  Houston is a member of Conference USA and is in its final year of C-USA play as they're headed to the Big East Conference for the 2013-14 campaign.  The Cougars finished tied for eighth last year and fell in the first round of the C-USA Tournament.  Forward TaShawn Thomas leads UH in both scoring and rebounding with averages of 17.6 points and 10.6 rebounds.  Guard Joseph Young follows with 16.7 points coupled with 11.6 from Danuel House.

Following Saturday's game, PV will begin SWAC play on the road at Alcorn State on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Alcorn State, Miss.
