The Prairie View A&M soccer team and recently announced Southwestern Athletic Conference Player Of The Week Celene Batrez are preparing to host Mississippi Valley State at 7 p.m. on Friday and Alcorn State at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the soccer field in another weekend of exciting SWAC play.

Lady Panthers' midfielder Batrez ignited the Lady Panthers with three goals for a hat trick in Prairie View A&M's 5-0 win over Texas Southern on Oct. 11. She was announced as the SWAC Player of the Week on Tuesday and looks to continue to be a spark for the Lady Panthers attack.

Mississippi Valley and Alcorn State represent the SWAC East, and though the Lady Panthers games this weekend won't count towards their conference record, these teams could be potential opponents in the SWAC Tournament in Houston to be played in November.

Prairie View A&M is 3-8 with a 1-1 SWAC record, however the team has been hot as of late. The Lady Panthers have won three of their last four games, outscoring opponents 8-to-2 in that span.
