Men's Basketball Road Trip Concludes At Jackson State Monday Night

GAME NOTES

KPVU 91.3 FM

JACKSON, Miss. – The opportunity to make up a lot of ground presents itself on Monday night as the Prairie View A&M Panthers face Jackson State at 7:30 p.m. in the Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.  The Panthers are looking to sweep JSU for only the third time in 23 years as the contest will be heard on KPVU 91.3 FM.

The Panthers are coming off a 63-53 win over Grambling State on Saturday and have won five of the past eight games dating back to Jan. 12.  Jackson State is on a two-game slide after posting a four-game winning streak.  JSU fell to TSU 61-54 on Saturday night and is 5-16 overall.

When playing in the city of Jackson, JSU has been virtually unstoppable against the Panthers as the Tigers have dominated with a 19-3 record since 1990.  PV's Byron Rimm II has two of the three wins in 2008 and 2012.  Rimm is 5-10 lifetime versus Jackson State as PV is looking for the series sweep this year over JSU as it has not been done since 2008 and 1990.

Senior shooting guard Jourdan DeMuynck leads the Panthers with 14.7 points per game and is pulling down a team-high 6.4 rebounds per outing.  Senior guard Carl Blair follows with 10 points and a team-high 5.2 assists.
