LAST TIME OUT ...
The Lady Panthers won their second consecutive game Sunday with a thrilling 61-56 win at Houston. It was a memorable win for the Lady Panthers, who had never beaten Houston in 15 previous tries in a series that dates back to the 1975-76 season. Senior guard Jeanette Jackson (Las Vegas, Nev. / Sierra Vista HS) led the way for Prairie View A&M, posting season highs of 28 points and seven rebounds. Jackson shot 8-of-22 from the field and drained 40 percent (4 of 10) of her 3-point attempts.

Prairie View A&M jumped out to a 9-4 lead and took a 30-17 advantage into halftime. The Cougars would come back in the second half, but the Lady Panthers pulled away in the end and improved to 2-6 with the victory.

ABOUT THE HORNED FROGS
The TCU Horned Frogs are off to a 5-3 start under head coach Raegan Pebley, who came to Fort Worth in 2014 after guiding Fresno State to back-to-back Mountain West Conference championships. The Horned Frogs have won three of their last five games, and are 3-1 at home this season.

TCU is coming off a 72-68 win over Lamar on Thursday. The win was the Horned Frogs second in three games and fourth in their last five against unranked opponents. Prior to that, TCU dropped an 82-71 at home to No. 5 Texas A&M on Sunday. TCU is undefeated at home against non-ranked opponents this season.

Junior guard Zahna Medley leads three TCU players scoring in double figures this season. The 5-foot-6-inch Medley is averaging 16.7 points per game and is shooting 41.6 percent from the floor.

TCU vs. PVAMU (AND THE REST OF THE SWAC)
The Horned Frogs have won all six prior contests against the Lady Panthers. The two teams first took the court against each other Dec. 9, 1978, in Kingsville at the Texas A&I Invitational Tournament. The Horned Frogs prevailed 71-57.

In the five meetings between the two teams since the start of the 1996-97 season, all games have been played in Fort Worth. Last season, the Lady Panthers dropped a 76-47 decision to the Horned Frogs. Prior to that, the last meeting between the two teams was during the 2001-02 season, when TCU prevailed 103-23.

TCU is 18-4 all-time against SWAC member programs, and has 6-0 records against both PVAMU and Texas Southern. The Horned Frogs defeated TCU 69-52 last month. TCU's only SWAC losses came in the mid-1990s to Alcorn State and Grambling State. The Horned Frogs are 0-2 against Alcorn State, the only SWAC team against which they have a losing record.

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE
Prairie View A&M's non-conference schedule features four games against teams that were ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 Division I Women's Basketball poll at the start of the season. The Lady Panthers faced three of those teams in a stretch of four games – a 59-41 loss at then-No. 7 Texas A&M on Nov. 24 and losses to North Carolina and Stanford in Honolulu, Hawaii this past weekend. The Tar Heels and Cardinals were ranked No. 11 and No. 5, respectively at the time of their games against PVAMU.

The Lady Panthers will return from their Christmas break with a contest at Baylor, which is currently ranked No. 9 in the latest AP and USA Today Coaches' Top 25 polls. All four ranked teams on the Lady Panthers' schedule are ranked ninth or higher in both polls.

ON THE NATIONAL STAGE
Jeanette Jackson's 20 points per game ranks 30th among NCAA Division I players. Shamiya Brooks' 5.0 offensive rebounds per game ranks sixth in the nation.

BROOKS AND JACKSON AMONG THE SWAC LEADERS
The names of junior post Shamiya Brooks (West Point, Ga. / Troupe HS) and Jeanette Jackson appear frequently on the Southwestern Athletic Conference's leaderboard one month into the season. Jackson's 20 points per game not only leads the Lady Panthers in scoring, it also leads the conference. Jackson also leads the SWAC with 3.6 assists per contest.

Meanwhile, Brooks has been a force in the paint on both ends of the court, leading the conference with 9.0 rebounds per game and 5.0 offensive rebounds per game. She pulled in seven of her eight rebounds off the offensive glass in Prairie View A&M's win at Houston. Brooks also ranks second with 1.7 blocked shots per contest. Brooks has made the most of her offensive rebounds as she averages 7.3 points per game, which puts her in the conference's Top 25.

BOMBS AWAY!
Jeanette Jackson and Chelsey Rosier (Tallahassee, Fla. / Florida State University [High] School) have proven themselves to be threats behind the 3-point arc, as both players rank in the SWAC's Top 10 in terms of 3-point percentage. Jackson has made 32 percent (15 of 47) of her long range shots, good for eighth in the SWAC.

Rosier, a junior college transfer from Florida's Gulf Coast State College, ranks ninth in the conference, having made seven out of her 24 long-range attempts, good for 29 percent. Rosier is averaging 4.1 points per game.

Jackson scored 24 points – including a 16-of-22 showing from the free throw line – and averaged 16 points per game during PVAMU's three contests. Jackson was named to the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Shootout's All-Tournament team.
