DENTON, Texas – For the second straight game, the PVAMU softball team failed to score a run in a 2-0 loss to Abilene Christian in the finale of the North Texas Shootout.

ACU crossed home a run in the bottom of the first on an RBI double and held the margin until the sixth as the Lady Panthers committed a two-out fielding error which moved the runner to third.  One batter later, ACU advanced the score to 2-0 with another RBI double.

Both teams had five hits apiece but the Lady Panthers struggled at the plate with 10 strikeouts and two errors.  Senior shortstop Leanna Flores led the team with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.

PVAMU returns to action on Wednesday as they'll face Houston Baptist at 2 p.m. in Houston.
