BOX SCORE 1 | BOX SCORE 2 | BOX SCORE 3

BATON ROUGE, La. – Prairie View A&M's softball woes continued as a promising start gave way to bad ending as Southern won two-of-three over the Lady Panthers this weekend.

In game one on Friday, Cally Falls pitched a three-hitter as PVAMU claimed a 6-1 win.

Jazmin Hicks drove in the game's first run in the third and an error allowed Alexandra Losoya to score for a 2-0 lead.  Lexus Walker hit a solo homer in the fourth for a 3-0 lead followed by Alisa Navarro's RBI in the fifth.  Walker doubled in the sixth for a 5-0 advantage while Losoya's RBI triple scored Walker for the 6-0 margin.

Hicks, Navarro, Jessica Long and Walker complied two hits apiece while Falls went the distance for her fourth win of the year.

Southern scored five runs in the fifth to break open a close game as they claimed a 10-4 win in Saturday's opener.

Samantha Arciba scored a run in the first for PVAMU but SU crossed home three runs in the bottom of the first to lead 3-1.  Arciba's RBI in the third drew PVAMU within a run at 3-2 but a five-run fourth gave SU an 8-1 lead PVAMU failed to come back from despite two runs in the fifth.

Monica Cartwright fell to 2-7 on the season while Arciba scored twice and drove in two RBIs.

The bats went silent in game three as Southern claimed a 9-0 decision.

SU scored three times in the first and kept up the scoring with six runs over the second and third frames.  PVAMU struggled at the plate as they compiled only four hits throughout the game.

Falls fell to 4-6 on the season while Jalen Morris, Brenicia Woods, Alisa Navarro and Brittanie Gardner had one hit apiece.

PVAMU is back in action on Wednesday as they'll host Incarnate Word at 2 p.m.
