DECATUR, Ala. – The 2014 season came to a disappointing end as Texas Southern held off Prairie View A&M 5-2 before a nationally televised audience in the semifinal round of the SWAC Tournament.

TSU moved ahead 2-0 in the top of the second via a two-run homer but PVAMU closed to within 2-1 in the fourth as Shontel Lopez's RBI scored Brittanie Gardner.

The Lady Panthers missed a prime opportunity to score in the fifth and it came back to haunt them in the bottom of the fifth as TSU tacked on three runs for a 5-1 margin.  PVAMU added a run in the seventh but it was too little too late as they were eliminated in the semifinal round for the third consecutive season.

Lopez and Jazmine Hicks led PVAMU with two hits apiece while Cally Falls took the loss on the mound.
