PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers didn't have enough left in the proverbial tank in their second match in two days Friday as Jackson State claimed a three-set sweep.
Scores of the match were 25-20, 25-21, and 25-20.
Mikayla Rolle knocked down 11 kills on 21 attempts for a .476 hitting percentage to lead Jackson State (2-14). She also had two solo blocks and assisted on five more.
Lenicia Tyson led Prairie View A&M (4-12) with 11 kills on 21 attempts. She hit .381 for the match.
With a front line averaging roughly 6 feet, 2 inches, Jackson State blockers gave the Panthers a difficult time attacking throughout the match. The visiting Lady Tigers enjoyed an 11-2 advantage in total blocks, and out-hit Prairie View A&M .310 to .089.
The Lady Panthers return to action Tuesday when they open Southwestern Athletic Conference West Division play at Texas Southern University. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m., and will be aired on the SWAC Digital Network.
