MoKeysha Shanklin and

Despite hitting .438 in the opening set, the Lady Panthers needed a late rally to pull away from their visitors. PVAMU held a 20-13 lead before Pine Bluff rallied with an 8-1 run; the Lady Panthers ended the set with four consecutive points, with Hunter, Shanklin and
Marissa Campbell knocking down kills.
The Lady Panthers breezed to an easy set two win thanks to a 13-2 run that stretched their lead to 21-8. After a run of three consecutive points for Pine Bluff, Prairie View A&M again took the last four points, with kills from Hunter and Campbell sandwiching a pair of
Tisharra Thompson aces.
After the intermission, the Golden Lions appeared poised to extend the match after taking an early 6-1 lead. Pine Bluff would later stretch their lead to 18-11 as the Golden Lions quieted down the crowd.
But before the Golden Lions could distance themselves, they allowed the Lady Panthers back in the set with a 6-0 PVAMU run. A kill by Hunter to cut the lead to 18-17 succeeded five consecutive Pine Bluff errors.
The Golden Lions would build their lead back to 22-19, but the Lady Panthers would regroup after a timeout. After a Shanklin kill cut the lead to two points, Kiso brought the home team back to within a point with a deceptive second-hit attack that landed for a kill. Momentum went further into PVAMU's favor when an attack by
Mykaeli Franklin hit the net and rolled down onto the Pine Bluff side of the court to tie the match.
Two more errors from Pine Bluff would give the Lady Panthers set point, and two points later, Shanklin ended it with her career-best kill.
Shanklin committed no errors on 19 attempts in the match, which also gave her a career-high .632 hitting percentage for the evening. Hunter was consistent with her attacks as well, hitting .409 for the match.
Franklin finished with four kills, while Campbell and
Jasmine Lewis had three kills.
In between sets two and three, the Lady Panthers honored several members of the Prairie View A&M community and extended volleyball family who are survivors of breast cancer as part of the team's Dig Pink celebration.
