BOX SCORE WACO, Texas - Nationally ranked Baylor led from start-to-finish as the Panthers dropped an 80-41 decision on Wednesday night in Waco.
The Bears scored a trey for the game's first basket but the Panthers countered as they were down 8-4 less than three minutes in. However, the Panthers would stall offensively as they committed three turnovers and went scoreless for nearly seven minutes while Baylor went on a 14-0 run to move ahead 19-4 until a three-point play by Ja'Donta Blakely ended the drought at the 10:57 mark. Down 19-7, that would be the closest the Panthers would draw as the Bears went into the half up 35-15.
The deficit was too large for the Panthers to overcome in the second half as the Bears maintained a sizable margin from the opening whistle.
Reigning SWAC Player of the Week Tevin Bellinger led PVAMU with 15 points followed by Blakely's eight points. Admassu Williams, Karim York and Tyler Miller had four rebounds apiece.
The Panthers are back in action on next Friday, Dec. 11 as they'll face TCU in Fort Worth, Texas at 7 p.m.
