HOUSTON – The Prairie View A&M Panthers fell to 0-2 on the season Saturday after they fell 8-3 to Houston Baptist.
HBU's Matthew McCollough struck out eight batters over six innings and yielded only an unearned run to lead the Huskies to the win.
Errors once again undermined the Prairie View A&M effort, as the Panthers again committed four defensive miscues during the game.
The PVAMU errors yielded plenty of unearned runs for the Huskies. Six of HBU's eight runs were unearned during the game.

Jordan Stewart took the loss for the Panthers despite not giving up an earned run. Stewart struck out three batters and scattered seven hits over six innings and gave up five unearned runs.
The Huskies plated four runs in the first inning. The frame was highlighted by three singles and hit batsmen in a span of four batters to ignite the rally.
Joseph Mack put the Panthers on the board in the fourth inning with an RBI single that scored
Connor Wrye and cut HBU's lead to 4-1.
Wrye had a hand in all three Panther runs on the afternoon, as he smacked a two-run home run to left in the top of the ninth inning that also scored
David Drake. Wrye has a triple and a home run in his first two games of the season.
Pedro Maldonado pitched two innings of relief for the Panthers, giving up two earned runs and an unearned run.
The Panthers conclude their series at HBU on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
