GRAMBLING, La. -- The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers snapped a three-game losing streak Monday with a 59-51 win at Grambling State.
The Lady Panthers (10-14, 7-5 SWAC) were led by
Jeanette Jackson, who scored 16 points and grabbed four steals during the game. Teammate
Alexus Parker added 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting.
Yosha Watson scored a game-high 17 points to lead Grambling State (8-15, 5-7 SWAC), which lost on its home floor for only the third time in 10 games this season.
La'Sha Haynes and
Chelsey Rosier each scored eight points for Prairie View A&M, which won its 11th straight game over Grambling State. Haynes, a freshman from Pattison, Miss., topped her previous collegiate best of two points, which she acheived seven times this season.
The Lady Panthers return to action Saturday when they host Mississippi Valley State. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
