VICTORIA, Texas - Prairie View A&M dropped a 12-1, 9-1 non-conference doubleheader to Houston-Victoria on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Panthers were held to only four hits in the opener as UHV broke the game open with a seven-run second inning which saw them commit two errors. UHV added five additional runs on four hits in the third to trigger the run-rule after five innings.
Freshman Destinee Williams scored the lone run while Laura Martinez, Kylar Ward-Flowers, Amanda Ford and Peyton Simms had one hit apiece.
UHV scored four runs within the first three innings to claim an early 4-0 lead. The Lady Panthers had several chances to put a dent into their deficit but left seven runners in scoring position. UHV put the game away in the fifth as they crossed home five runs.
Williams, Alisa Navarro, Regan Richard and Peyton Simms had one hit apiece with Richard driving in the lone RBI.
