BOX SCORE 2 ARLINGTON, Texas – Prairie View A&M had a pair of tough foes on hand as they fell 12-0 to Texas Tech and 10-2 to DePaul on Saturday at the UT Arlington Invitational.
A seven-run second inning was the difference as Texas Tech claimed a 12-0 win in Saturday's opener.
TTU scored once in the first but broke the game open in the second with a seven-run frame. The Lady Panthers had their opportunities to score as they loaded the bases twice in the second and third innings but stranded nine runners on base overall.
In the second game, another big second inning haunted PVAMU as they fell 10-2 to DePaul.
DePaul scored once in the first but broke the game open in the second with a six-run frame for a 7-0 lead. PVAMU scored once in the third and fourth frames for its lone runs of the day as Amber Ford had an RBI.
The tournament was scheduled to conclude Sunday but the threat of inclement weather canceled the remaining games. PVAMU is back in action on Thursday, March 5 as they'll travel to Nacogdoches Texas to face Stephen F Austin at 3 p.m.
