EDINBURG, Texas –
Khalisha Bond scored a pair of goals and helped Prairie View A&M split points with Texas–Rio Grande Valley as the Lady Panthers drew 2-2 with their hosts Friday.
Bond equaled the score in the 80th minute when she fired a shot into the lower right corner past goalkeeper Erica Gonzalez.
Ashley Virgil and
Courtney Aleman assisted on the goal.
Prairie View A&M goalkeeper
Dominique Dillon made seven saves to help lead the Lady Panthers to the tie. Dillon made three saves during the two overtime periods to preserve the draw.
Bond scored her first goal of the season when she tied the game in the 23rd minute, scoring a goal off passes from Virgil and
Alicia Cooper, who were each credited with the assist.
The Lady Panthers improved to 0-1-1 with Friday's tie. UTRGV's record went to 1-1-1.
Prairie View A&M concludes their road trip Sunday when they travel to San Antonio to face Incarnate Word. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
