HOUSTON – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers showed fight before ultimately succumbing to Houston Baptist in three sets Tuesday.
Scores of the match were 25-16, 25-15, and 25-16.
Jessica Wooten posted a double-double to lead the Huskies (5-3) to their second win over Prairie View A&M in a span of eight days. Wooten knocked down 10 kills and tallied 12 digs.
Freshman middle blocker
Calli Jordan Hensch led the Lady Panthers (0-9) with five kills. She also led the PVAMU defensive effort with 10 digs.
Mykaeli Franklin came off the bench to tally five kills for the Lady Panthers.
Ana Kiso tallied 25 assists for Prairie View A&M.
The first set saw 13 ties and four lead changes as the two teams traded points back and forth for the first half of the set. Neither team was able to gain more than a single-point lead until after the halfway point.
With the score tied at 13-13, the home team went on a 10-1 run, which propelled HBU to a 23-14 lead before winning the set 25-16.

MoKeysha Shanklin, and
Mariah Thomas all knocked down four kills apiece for Prairie View A&M.
Paige Chuidian tallied six digs, while Shanklin and
Tisharra Thompson added five digs.
The Lady Panthers return to action next Tuesday when they travel to McNeese State.
