Prairie View A&M will close out its brief homestand tonight against Southern inside the Baby Dome as the doubleheader is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. The contest will be video streamed live on
YouTube and on KPVU 91.3 FM.
The Lady Panthers snapped a four-game losing streak Saturday when they opened SWAC play with a 58-54 win over Alcorn State. The Lady Panthers fell behind 10-0 in the game's first four minutes, but recovered by scoring 14 of the next 16 points; they put the game out of reach in the third quarter with a 17-5 run.
Prairie View A&M and Southern have faced each other 75 times since the NCAA began sponsoring women's basketball at the start of the 1981-82 season. The Jaguars lead the series 55-20, and are 7-3 in the last 10 games. Over the past two seasons, the Lady Panthers and Jaguars have faced each other six times, including the postseason SWAC Tournament. Prairie View A&M is looking for its first win over Southern since a 72-43 triumph in the SWAC semifinal round in 2014.

Southern has won nine of the past 10 games over the Panthers dating back to 2012. PVAMU's lone win over SU during that span occurred during the 2014 SWAC Tournament. The Panthers have not defeated Southern in Prairie View since March 5, 2011.
