ORLANDO – The Prairie View A&M University bowling team finished 10^th in the 13-team Bethune-Cookman Wildcat Invitational on the opening weekend of the 2016-17 season.
 
The 22^nd-ranked Lady Panthers won one of three matches Sunday, defeating host Bethune-Cookman while falling twice to #8 North Carolina A&T.
 
Competing in the Baker format on Sunday, Prairie View A&M opened the day losing in seven games to NCA&T (170-179, 173-148, 190-202, 193-178, 181-178, 152-206, 154-167).
 
In the second match, the Lady Panthers rebounded to defeat host Bethune-Cookman in six games (191-190, 211-141, 176-168, 170-215, 179-182, 193-168).
 
In the final match of the day, PVAMU lost to North Carolina A&T in six games (189-232, 175-171, 203-202, 167-171, 151-182, 169-186).
 
The Lady Panthers return to action this weekend at the Fairleigh Dickinson Tournament.
