Thursday's edition revisits the softball team's doubleheader sweep of Grambling State, in which the Lady Panthers overcame a seven-run deficit in game two to claim a 17-11 win.

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Prairie View A&M softball upped its winning streak to a season-best three games after completing a sweep over Grambling State on Saturday afternoon.

Briana Knowles went 4-for-4 while
Kylar Ward-Flowers drove in four RBIs as PVAMU run-ruled Grambling State 8-0 in the opener.

PVAMU wasted no time in setting the tone with a three-run first inning led by Knowles' RBI single and Ward-Flowers' two-RBI double which scored
Taylor Harvill and Knowles. After the first inning surge, it took three innings for PVAMU to return to the scoreboard as a wild pitch scored
Day'zjah Pennywell for a 4-0 lead followed by Ward-Flowers' sacrifice RBI to score
Shelby Williams. PVAMU jumped ahead 6-0 in the fourth as a GSU error scored Knowles.

PVAMU put the game away in the sixth as Ward-Flowers drew a bases loaded walk followed by
Heidi Woodworth's run.

Monica Cartwight improved to 3-2 as she struck out five in six innings of work. Knowles had four hits followed by three from Williams and two from Ward-Flowers.

PVAMU overcame a seven-run deficit as they exploded for 17 runs to sweep the series with a 17-11 victory over Grambling State in game two.

The Lady Panthers fell behind 7-0 in the first as GSU took advantage of four hit batters with a pair of RBIs.

It didn't take long for PVAMU to respond as the Williams and Knowles tandem got things started off on the right foot as Williams walked and scored on Knowles' RBI single.
Laurisa Hernandez hit an RBI double to score Knowles while Ward-Flowers' sacrifice fly drove in Hernandez for a 9-3 deficit.

PVAMU regained the lead in a big way during the second inning as they scored nine runs for a 12-7 margin. Hernandez recorded a two-RBI double followed by
Kelsey Coronado's RBI single and a pair of three-run homers from Ward-Flowers and
Tiffany Robertson.

Knowles popped a two-run homer over left field in the fourth and a heads-up play by Robertson with bases loaded in the fifth led to another run. Knowles and Hernandez both hit RBIs in the sixth for the team's final runs of the afternoon.

Knowles led the way with a 3-for-5 outing with four runs and four RBIs. Hernandez finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs while Ward-Flowers added four RBIs on two hits along with Woodworth's two hits.

Sabrina Johnson picked up her first win of the season as she struck out eight batters in 6.1 innings of relief.
