COLLEGE STATION, - Texas – The Prairie View A&M University women's basketball team dropped an 84-57 game to Texas State on Saturday afternoon at Strahan Coliseum.
 
Junior transfer Shala Dobbins led the charge for the Lady Panthers with 23 points, while Newman posted 12 points.  Dobbins also led the team on the boards with seven, while also handing out three assists. 
 
The Bobcats to an early 14-5 lead in the first 4:57 of the game, but the Lady Panthers reeled off an 11-5 run to get within a basket. However, the Lady Panthers were able to get as close as seven to end the frame.
 
Both teams shot 85 percent for the game (12-14).
