EDINBURG, Texas – The Prairie View A&M University baseball team lost both games of Saturday's doubleheader at Texas Rio Grande Valley 4-0 and 10-3 at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.
The teams will play the final game of the series Sunday at noon.
Game 1 - UTRGV 4, Panthers 0: Edgar Sanchez went the distance on the mound for PVAMU, allowing eight hits, four runs, one walk and two strikeouts.
Avery Williams tripled for PVAMU, one of three hits in the contest.
Game 2 – URRGV 10, Panthers 3: Kevin Macais went 3-for-3 at the plate and scored a run in the nightcap for Prairie View A&M.
Macais' single leading off the fourth inning led to runs. With one out,
Nathan Carter singled, moving Macais to second. Both players advanced on a wild pitch. With two outs,
Corbin Jamison's single to left field scored Macais and Carter.
In the ninth, Jaylan Baker singled with one out. Chris Lee and
Kaylor Lewis walked to load the bases. Baker then scored on a wild pitch for the final margin.
