ARLINGTON, Texas – The Prairie View A&M University bowling team saw its season come to a close Saturday at the 2017 Southwestern Athletic Conference Bowling Championship at the International Training and Research Center.
The 2017 SWAC Regular Season champion Lady Panthers were the fourth seed after Friday's traditional format play which seeded teams based on pinfall.
Competing in the Baker format in best of seven play Saturday, PVAMU opened with a 4-3 win over #5 Southern (178-188, 235-139, 144-147, 142-131, 243-135, 200-204, 210-169).
In match two, the Lady Panthers just missed out on advancing to the winner's bracket final, losing to #1 Alabama State in seven games (203-209, 246-158, 186-158, 165-153, 167-177, 212-226, 162-221) to fall to the loser's bracket.
In the final match, Prairie View A&M fell to Southern 4-2 (161-138, 180-197, 177-236, 147-157, 199-134, 147-158).
