BOX SCORE HOUSTON, Texas — The Prairie View A&M University softball team fell to Texas Southern Friday afternoon at Memorial Park 5-4.
 
Prairie View A&M struck first in the top of the first taking advantage of a Briana Knowles walk. After Kylar Ward-Flowers singled to left center scoring Knowles, gave the Lady Panthers a 1-0 lead.  Destinee Williams homered extending the lead 3-0.
 
TSU scored its first run in the bottom of the same inning.  PVAMU scored for its final time in the top of the fourth taking a 4-1 lead, with D. Williams taking a free base to lead off the inning, before Alyssa Garcia singled to right field advancing D. Williams across the plate.
 
Texas Southern scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth and one run in the seventh to take the first game of the three game series.
