DALLAS, Texas –On day one of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Bowling West Round Up, the SWAC 2017 Regular Season title winners Prairie View A&M has two bowlers in the top ten of individual play and are in third place with a 3-2 record.
Junior
Lindsay Paredes placed eighth in individual action after bowling a total pin count of 734 after four games, while senior
Jessica Rodriguez finished ninth after five games with a total pin count of 913 a season best.
Lady Panthers
Veronica Prior and
Kayla Marsh were named amongst the SWAC top ten freshman after their individual play. Prior is fourth with an average of 167.8 and a total pin fall of 671 after bowling four games. She also posted a season high game of 195. Marsh is eighth with a total pin fall count of 271 after just playing two games and posting a season high game of 166.
Prairie View A&M opened the round up against Southern picking up a win in traditional match play by the scores of 968-855. In match two the Lady Panthers posted a win over defending SWAC champ Alabama State, taking the match 917-778.
In their third match of the day Texas Southern managed to take an 898-816 win over the Lady Panthers. Jackson State took the fourth contest by the score 855-817. In the Lady Panthers final contest of the day, they bounced back to pick up a win over Grambling State 842-689.
PVAMU will resume play at the USA Bowl with the first bowl at 10 a.m., when they face the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A&M.
