10/18/2018 4:00:00 PM

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – With just three games remaining in the 2018 season, the Prairie View A&M soccer team will look to bounce back after two tough losses last weekend as they make a final push towards the SWAC Tournament.

"Practice has been excellent, with us trying to increase our chances in the seeding for conference play," said head PVAMU soccer coach Sonia Curvelo.  "We've had a big growth point in our training session.  Last weekend, we didn't get the results that we were looking for, but our aim is to try to get as many goals as we can going into this weekend.  I was really happy to see the ladies mindset and how they got past this weekend."

Prairie View will open the weekend with a match against Alcorn at Friday at 4 p.m. start.  The team will follow up Friday's match with a tilt against Miss. Valley State on Sunday at 1 p.m.

"This weekend is going to be big for us," Curvelo said.  "Our plan is to play our game.  We've practiced different scenarios all week, because it's important for us to score wins and goals.  We are not going to stop once we get the first one (goal), we are going to keep going and try to get another goal and another goal."
