Pete, Addison Named Assistant Vice Presidents

Prairie View A&M University Vice President / Director Of Athletics Fred Washington has appointed Alicia Pete has Assistant Vice President for Operations and Anitra Addison to the role of Assistant Vice President for Business Operations.
 
"I believe that these two appointments will have an immediate impact and allow us to streamline, align and strengthen the department," Washington said. "This is the first of a series of activities that will help position us to meet the expanding needs of our student-athletes, staff, alumni and supporters."
 
Pete has been a mainstay within Prairie View A&M Athletics for decades. An award-winning volleyball player and coach, Pete led the Lady Panthers to two SWAC Championships (1999, 2006) and the team's first two NCAA Tournament appearances in program history, earning Pete SWAC Coach of the Year honors after each championship. Pete graduated from PVAMU in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She later earned a master's degree in health in 1998.
 
Currently, she is the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, the Athletic Title IX Coordinator and she serves on the Hall of Fame Committee as well as the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. As Assistant Vice President, Pete will oversee all functional operations to include but not limited to game day operations, athletic compliance, and academics and will directly support fourteen of the eighteen sports.
 
Addison began her career with Prairie View A&M University in September 2005 and has been serving as an Assistant Vice President in Auxiliary Services since 2015. In her role, Addison led the financial management and budgeting activities for all Auxiliary units and provided direct leadership for reshaping the University Radio Station (KPVU) and Campus Mail Operations. Prior to being named an Assistant Vice President, Addison served in various capacities of increasing responsibility within in Auxiliary Services. Addison was recognized as a finalist for the President's Staff award in 2011 and 2014 and routinely ranked as one of the top administrators in the Division of Auxiliary Services for her customer service.
 
Addison is a proud PVAMU alumna, having graduated from PVAMU in 1998 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. In her new role, Addison will oversee the business affairs of the department and provide oversight to the Sports Medicine unit and guest services activities including the suites and season pass programs.
