The Prairie View A&M men's basketball will play it's only game of the week Tuesday at Louisiana.
 
The Panthers and Ragin Cajuns will tip at 7 p.m. in the Cajun Dome in Lafayette, La. The Panther Sports Network pregame show begins at 6:45 p.m. online at pvpanthers.com/live. The game will also be video streamed at ESPN+ with a link to watch live at pvpanthers.com.
 
Prairie View A&M returns to action for the first time in a week after an 82-68 loss at Louisiana Tech last Tuesday. The Panthers trailed by as many as 18 in the second half before cutting the deficit to three on three different occasions in the second half.
 
It was the fifth game this season PVAMU trailed by three possessions or less at the five minute mark, but were unable to get over the hump against Louisiana Tech.
 
Gary Blackston ranks third in the SWAC in scoring (15.3/gm), sixth in rebounds (6.1/gm), and fifth in steals (1.7/gm). Patterson is seventh in the league in scoring (14.1/gm), fifth in both field goal percentage (43.4%) and free throw percentage (82.8%), and is second in steals (1.9/gm).
 
Louisiana (6-3), the defending Sun Belt Conference champion, has won four straight and five of its last six contests. JaKeenan Gant leads four players in double figures at 17.7 ppg, followed by Malik Marquetti (13.2), Justin Miller (11.8) and Marcus Stroman (10.6).
 
Louisiana is the eighth of 10 opponents this season who have a .500 record of better. Of those eight teams, six of them have three losses or less (Baylor 5-3, UNC Greensboro 8-2, Georgia Tech 5-3, Murray St. 5-1, La. Tech 7-3, Louisiana 6-3).
