Panthers To End Two-Game Road Trip At Louisiana Tech

RUSTON, La. – The Prairie View A&M men's basketball team will conclude a two-game road trip with a Tuesday night contest at Louisiana Tech.
 
The Panther Sports Network Radio Broadcast begins at 6:15 p.m. at pvpanthers.com/live prior to tip off at 6:30 p.m. There will be a live video stream on the Conference USA Network via pvpanthers.com.
 
It's the first meeting between the teams since 2016-17 season, a 65-52 Louisiana Tech win on Dec. 13.
 
Prairie View A&M is coming off an 83-67 loss at Murray State Saturday night. The game was much closer than the score indicated over the first 22+ minutes of the contest. The game was tied 16 times with eight lead changes with neither team leading by double figures in the first half.
 
The last tie was early in the second half at 38-38 before the Racers established the lead for good.
 
Devonte Patterson had his fifth consecutive double-digit scoring game with 18 points, and Gary Blackston had his seventh double-digit game of the season with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds to lead PVAMU.
 
Blackston continues to rank second in the league in scoring at 16.6 points per game and is in the top 15 in the league in seven different categories, including 6th in rebounding (6.5/gm) and third in steals (1.8/gm). Devonte Patterson has moved up the seventh in scoring at 14.2/gm and is in the top 15 in four other categories.
 
Louisiana Tech (5-3) is coming off an 85-78 win over Houston Baptist Saturday, ending a stretch of games in which they had lost three of the previous four contests. Anthony Duruji leads four players in double figures at 12.4 ppg, followed by Exavian Christon (12.0), Amorie Archibald (11.4) and Oliver Powell (10.4).
