DENTON, Texas - After a pair of midweek games, the Prairie View A&M softball team returns to action Saturday in the North Texas-Schutt Classic at Lovelace Stadium.

The tournament was delayed by a day because of weather.  The Lady Panthers will face Creighton for a 3 p.m. first pitch on Saturday and then return to the field at 7 p.m. against host team North Texas.

On Sunday the teams will conclude the tournament with PVAMU opening up the morning at 9 a.m. against Creighton and the closing out the evening with a final matchup against the North Texas at 3 p.m.

Alyssa Garcia is leading the team in batting with .533 after six games.  She has posted one run, four hits, one HR and four RBI. 

On the mound for the Lady Panthers has been Vannessa Castro, who is 1-2 on the season.  She has four strikeouts, and allowed nine walks and 10 runs in her three appearances.
