PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - In another midweek nonconference game the Prairie View A&M softball team fell to Stephen F. Austin 6-2, Wednesday afternoon at the PVAMU Softball Complex.
The Ladyjacks struck quickly in the opening frame, scoring a run in the top of the first, three more in the third and another in the fourth.
The Lady Panthers got one run back in the bottom of the fourth.
Laurisa Hernandez led off the inning on a walk. On two outs
Kylar Ward-Flowers singled to left center bringing Hernandez across the plate to make the score 5-1.
SFA scored a final run in the top of the fifth before PVAMU scores in the bottom half.

Amanda Ford singled to left center.
Alexis Freeman replaced Ford on first base as the pinch runner. Freeman advanced to second on a sac bunt. On two outs
Shelby Williams singled to the catcher, moving Freeman to third. Williams stole base on a catchers throwing error, while
Gabrielle Fonseca was up to bat. Freeman scored in the same segment to make the contest 6-2.
The Lady Panthers couldn't produce a comeback against the Ladyjacks as the score remained 6-2 through the final two innings.
The Lady Panthers will look to bounce back as they open conference play in a three-game series at Alabama A&M on Friday, March 16 for a 3 p.m. start.
