Track & Field Athletes Set For NCAA West Regionals

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The fields are set and seven Prairie View A&M track and field student athletes are prepared to participate in the 2018 NCAA Preliminaries hosted on the campus of Sacramento State at Hornet Stadium.
 
Fans will be able to get all the updates on the live results link on pvpanthers.com and via pvamupanthers Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
 
Senior Logan Williams will compete in the opening event on Thursday in the 400m hurdles beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT and senior hurdler Deonca Bookman will compete at 7 p.m. CT to open the women's portion of the 400 m hurdles.
 
Both sophomore Carl Jordan and senior William Polley will run in the 400 m  race starting at 9:20 p.m. CT also on Thursday.  The field events will feature junior Nekeisha Bailey, who will compete in the high jump at 6 p.m. CT and sophomore Tristan Ham has a 6:30p.m. CT, start in the pole vault.  Freshman Kaizha Roberts will be making her debut in the NCAA preliminaries at 9:30 p.m. CT in the long jump on Thursday as well.
 
Williams will open on Friday, May 25 with 110 hurdles at 2:30 p.m. CT, while Bookman will have a 3 p.m. CT start in the women's 100 m hurdles.  Jordan will also run on Friday in 200m race at 5:30 p.m. CT.
  
The qualifiers out of the region will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 6-9 in Eugene, Oregon.
