HOUSTON–The Prairie View A&M University women's soccer team fell to the University of Houston 5-0, Friday night at the Carl Lewis Complex.
 
"I think there are some areas that we definitely need to work on," said new head PVAMU soccer coach Sonia Curvelo.  "The errors we made tonight resulted in Houston's goals, I think there are some things that we can control and fix.  There are some positives that I think we can fix before Sunday's game at Nicholls.  We will go back and look at some things and do some hard training on the field."
 
Junior midfielder Gina Zavala De Rojas posted three shots for the Lady Panthers. 
 
Although PVAMU fell behind early they still had a strong first half performance.  The Cougars went into the half leading 3-0, and added two more goals in the second half to close out the game.
 
The Lady Panthers finished the game with four shots on goal.  Freshman goal keeper of the Week Quinn Josiah finished the game with six saves.
 
PVAMU will wrap up the weekend with a road trip to Thibodaux, La., as they face Nicholls on Sunday.
