Volleyball Drops Match to Houston

HOUSTON - In a fast paced match, the Prairie View A&M volleyball team fell to the University of Houston 3-0 at the Athletic Alumni Center, Tuesday night.

"These last few games showed me where we are, and that I feel like we need to get back into the gym," said head PVAMU volleyball coach TaCho Tyler.  "We need to work some things out and work on passing and blocking.  We weren't disciplined like we needed to be against a team like this.  Growing pains is something that we will have to work through before SWAC roundups in the next couple of weeks."

The Lady Panthers fell by the scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-11.

PVAMU's offense was paced by Jaylan Thomas with nine kills, while setter Erica Jimenez added a season high of 12 assists.  Christen Augustine and Tamiara Armstrong held down the back line for the Lady Panthers.  Augustine had a team high of 12 digs, while Armstrong followed close behind with 10.

The Lady Panthers will open the home portion of their schedule on Wednesday, August 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the New Recreation Center against Huston-Tillotson.
