PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M University volleyball team fell 3-1 to Huston Tilloston Wednesday at the PVAMU Recreation Center in their home opener.
"I think overall our passing was there for us, and our defense was excellent for us, but unfortunately we only had one hitter today and you can't win a game like that no matter who you play," PVAMU head volleyball coach

Jaylan Thomas led the Lady Panthers offense with 20 kills. Senior defensive specialist
Christen Augustine tallied a match-high of 26 digs, while freshman setter
Joycelyn Nunez added 24 assists.
After the opening set that went the way of the Lady Rams 25-22, the Lady Panthers found new life in the second set. The set featured three lead changes as both teams were tied at 18 late in the set. PVAMU wasable to hold off Huston-Tilloston to take the set 25-18.
The momentum continued in set three, but the Lady Panthers again fell short falling 25-23, with the Lady Rams taking a 2-1 lead over PVAMU.
The Lady Rams opened the fourth set with a quick 7-2 run, but the Lady Panthers tried to fight their way back, but Huston Tilloston didn't look back, eventually taking the set 25-20, and the match.
PVAMU returns home Tuesday for a 6:30 match against Houston Baptist.
